I read the total number of points a driver can earn for winning a drift competition is 100 plus 50. I am writing a novel called Geared about a drift racer entering a drift competition. Got any ideas for me on how to write out the drift racing scenes? I read that competitions start out with undertermined number of racers and then reduce gradually after each race to Top 16, Top 8, Top 4, and then final two. It looks like racers advanced based on scoring as opposed to reaching a finish line. If anyone can give me the results of a drift compeition you know of that would help me to create the scene accurately. Thanks.

Drifting determines its winners by judging drivers on their ability to drift their car though a set course.
Speed
Angle of car adjacent to apex of corner
Racing line all determine winners.
Often 2 cars are racing together.
